About the role
Turnkey Africa is seeking an entry-level QA Engineer to test APIs and user workflows on Evolve, an insurance management platform. The role involves creating test cases, validating API responses, conducting manual and automated testing, documenting defects, and supporting release decisions.
Responsibilities
- Create test cases and test REST APIs using Postman or similar tools.
- Validate API responses, authentication, error handling, and documentation.
- Conduct manual, exploratory, cross-browser, and responsive testing of user workflows.
- Develop and maintain basic API and UI automated tests.
- Document defects with clear reproduction steps, expected results, and evidence.
- Verify fixes, conduct regression testing, and escalate quality risks.
- Track test coverage and report outstanding defects to support release decisions.
Requirements
- QA internship, coursework, personal projects, or equivalent practical testing experience.
- Understanding of test cases, regression testing, exploratory testing, and defect management.
- Basic scripting skills in Python, TypeScript, or Java.
- Basic knowledge of REST APIs, HTTP, JSON, and tools such as Postman.
- Clear documentation, communication, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
