Delete your Aremu account
Last updated: October 2026
This page explains how to delete your account with Aremu (aremu.ai), the AI job-matching service available on the web, in the Aremu Android app, on WhatsApp, and on Telegram. Deleting your account permanently removes your data. It can't be undone.
How to request deletion
Choose any one of these options.
Option 1: In the app or on the website
- Sign in at aremu.ai/profile or open the Aremu app.
- Go to Profile and scroll to Delete account.
- Tap Delete my account.
- Type DELETE to confirm. Your account is deleted immediately.
Option 2: On WhatsApp
- From the phone number on your account, send delete my account to Aremu on WhatsApp.
- Tap Delete everything on the confirmation message.
- Reply DELETE. Your account is deleted immediately.
Option 3: By email
- Email support@aremu.ai with the subject Delete my account.
- Include the phone number on your account (and your email address, if you added one).
- To protect your account, we may confirm the request by messaging that phone number before we delete anything.
- We delete your account within 30 days (usually much sooner) and reply to confirm when it's done.
What we delete
Deleting your account permanently removes everything linked to it, including:
- Your account and sign-in details (phone number, email, password, login codes).
- Your profile: name, location, job preferences, skills and experience.
- Your CVs, photos, videos and any files you uploaded.
- Your WhatsApp, Telegram and in-app message history with Aremu.
- Your job matches, applications, interviews and activity history.
- Your notification settings, push-notification tokens and linked Telegram account.
- For employers: your company profile, job posts, applicant lists and messages.
- Your payment records stored with Aremu.
What we keep
- Applications you already sent. If you applied to a job, the employer received a copy of your application and CV. That copy is held by the employer, not Aremu, so contact them directly to have it removed.
- Payment transaction records held by our payment providers (for example Flutterwave or Paystack), which they keep as required by financial regulations.
- Backups. Deleted data can remain in our encrypted database backups until those backups are overwritten in the normal cycle. Backups are not used to restore deleted accounts.
- Anything the law requires us to keep, for example to resolve a dispute or prevent fraud, and only for as long as required.
Aggregated statistics that don't identify you (such as total number of sign-ups) are not affected.
