Design and Commercial Engineer (Mechanical)
A Design and Commercial Engineer (Mechanical) is responsible for developing detailed engineering designs, managing commercial aspects of projects, supporting procurement, providing project execution guidance, and managing risks. The role also involves working with other engineering disciplines and project teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed designs, utilize CAD software, perform engineering calculations, and optimize project performance.
- Prepare cost estimates, conduct value engineering, develop project proposals, and participate in contract negotiations.
- Collaborate with procurement teams, develop technical specifications, and evaluate supplier proposals.
- Provide technical guidance, coordinate with construction teams, and manage design changes.
- Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and integrate risk management into project planning.
- Work with other engineering disciplines and coordinate with project managers, estimators, and schedulers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree / HND qualification in Mechanical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering.
- 2 - 4 years of experience.
- High analytical, creative and cognitive ability.
- Good handle of CAD & CAE software (AutoCAD 3D, AutoCAD Advance Steel, AME Tank, SolidWorks, PipeFlow, Prota, ANSYS, Aspen HYSYS)
- Good handle of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project
- Good communication skills.
