Site Engineer

Vercel is looking for a Site Engineer to help design and develop scalable features that enhance the user journey, integrate feedback loops, monitor key metrics, and ensure the reliability of our acquisition funnel. You will work with cross-functional teams to build dynamic pages, run A/B tests, and optimize conversion funnels.

Responsibilities:

• Lead complex frontend projects that establish Vercel as a gold standard for brand and product marketing.
• Collaborate with growth and marketing teams to A/B test landing pages for lead generation across multiple channels.
• Design and implement scalable applications, web services, and APIs with a focus on user experience and performance.
• Contribute to our design system and uphold industry-leading UX standards.
• Continuously improve engineering processes, tools, and systems to scale the codebase and team productivity.
• Troubleshoot and fix bugs, delivering quick, high-quality resolutions.
• Write technical documents and maintain internal tools to empower other teams.
• Review and provide feedback on contributions from other engineers.
• Identify bottlenecks and optimize for conversion, speed, and reliability across the funnel.
• Critically think about foundational areas of the Vercel application to ensure ease of maintenance and future extensibility.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional frontend engineering experience (React, JavaScript, Tailwind CSS, or similar).
• Strong proficiency in Next.js and familiarity with modern frontend frameworks.
• Full stack experience (comfortable designing or consuming APIs and working with various services).
• Deep understanding of SEO principles and best practices—especially around performance, accessibility, and search optimization.
• Proven knowledge of A/B testing concepts and conversion rate optimization.
• Stellar cross-functional communication skills—you can work effectively with marketing, design, and product to reach shared goals.
• Eye for good user experiences and a knack for “getting the visuals right.”
• Desire to work in a fast-paced environment, continuously grow, and master your craft.

Salary:

• The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $196,000 - $294,000. Actual salary will be based on job-related skills, experience, and location.
