About the role
We are seeking a qualified Sewage Treatment Plant Operator to manage and maintain industrial-scale sewage treatment systems in Lagos. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in machinery operation, preventive maintenance, and a strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor sewage treatment plant equipment and systems
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery
- Read and interpret blueprints and design drawings
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety procedures
- Maintain accurate operational and maintenance records
- Report issues and provide updates promptly
Requirements
- Higher National Diploma/Technical College Degree or undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering, civil engineering (Water), Environmental Science, or related field from a recognized institution
- 3–5 years of proven experience in industrial-scale sewage treatment
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and design drawings
- Hands-on experience in machinery operation and preventive maintenance of sewerage systems
- Good understanding of sewage and wastewater treatment principles and procedures
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ability to interpret technical drawings
- Ability to work in dynamic and changing environments
- Strong reporting and documentation skills
