Manager, Risk, Controls & Compliance

A leading organisation in the energy and utilities sector is seeking an experienced Risk, Controls & Compliance Manager to strengthen risk management, internal controls, and regulatory compliance while supporting informed business decisions.

Responsibilities • Lead risk assessments and monitor organisational risk appetite and exposure. • Review and test internal controls and drive corrective actions. • Strengthen risk and control frameworks across business processes. • Monitor regulatory, legal, permit and compliance obligations. • Conduct investigations and provide actionable insights to management. • Lead reviews of IT General Controls and other key control environments. • Engage with senior leadership and Board/Audit & Risk Committee stakeholders.

Requirements • 7+ years of relevant experience with Big Four exposure, or 10+ years in a similar role. • Strong experience in risk management, internal controls, and compliance. • Proven experience engaging executive leadership and/or Board committees. • Strong understanding of Nigeria’s regulatory environment. • Experience in energy, utilities, power, gas or related industries is highly desirable. • Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, CRISC, CISA or equivalent is an advantage. • Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to challenge constructively and influence across functions.
