Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)

A leading commercial bank in Nigeria is seeking an experienced CISO to lead cybersecurity and information security across the Group, working closely with executive leadership, the Board, and technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the Bank’s cybersecurity strategy and roadmap.
• Strengthen security across applications, APIs, cloud, infrastructure, identity, and data.
• Lead security operations, monitoring, detection, and incident response.
• Establish application security and secure software development practices.
• Improve IAM/PAM, vulnerability management, and security controls.
• Lead major cyber incident response, root cause analysis, and remediation.
• Establish security standards, risk acceptance processes, and security metrics.
• Partner with Technology Risk, Fraud, Financial Crime, Internal Audit, regulators, and Engineering teams.
• Report material cyber risks and security posture to executive management and the Board.
• Build and develop a high-performing security organization.

Requirements

• 15+ years of technology and cybersecurity experience with significant leadership responsibility.
• Experience in banking, fintech, payments, or another highly regulated technology environment.
• Strong knowledge of cloud security, application/API security, IAM/PAM, SIEM, vulnerability management, and incident response.
• Understanding of CI/CD, containers, Kubernetes, and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience managing major cyber incidents and security transformation programmes.
• Strong executive and Board-level communication skills.
• Professional Security Management certification required.
• CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or similar certifications are an advantage.
