About the role
Laboratory Analyst
A Laboratory Analyst is responsible for conducting various chemical, biochemical, physical, and biological analyses on environmental samples such as water, gases, sediments, and soils. This includes maintaining laboratory equipment, following quality assurance protocols, recording data, and occasionally collecting field samples.
Responsibilities
- Conducting tests using lab instruments
- Ensuring quality by following strict protocols and maintaining chain of custody
- Calibrating and maintaining lab instruments
- Accurately recording and managing data
- Occasionally collecting environmental samples in the field
- Developing and implementing new analytical methods when needed
Requirements
- A minimum of a BSc, HND, or ND in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, or Science Laboratory Technology
- Proficiency in quantitative lab analysis and safety practices
- Experience with lab equipment operation and maintenance
- Ability to accurately record and interpret data
- Strong communication skills
