Role Overview

The Privacy Analyst at Coinbase will own the Privacy Incident Management function, working across multiple teams to manage and respond to privacy incidents involving personal data. This role requires strong incident management skills, cross-functional coordination, and a deep understanding of privacy regulations.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end Privacy Incident Management program, including notification workflows, escalation paths, process documentation, and automation opportunities.
• Lead privacy incident response as the DRI and Incident Commander, coordinating with multiple teams to drive analysis, remediation, and follow-through.
• Maintain on-call readiness to support privacy incident triage, severity classification, and urgent escalations.
• Drive privacy incident retrospectives, track resulting remediation items and control gaps, and deliver incident metrics and reporting.
• Build and maintain strong cross-functional and cross-geography stakeholder relationships.
• Support broader Privacy initiatives during lower-volume periods, including tooling development and automation projects.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in privacy, security, incident response, or related operational risk functions.
• Strong incident management skills with experience communicating privacy risk to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven track record of leading technical investigations within cloud-native architectures, with hands-on proficiency in SQL, Python, and data analysis tools.
• Demonstrated experience building automation to improve incident response efficiency.
• Working knowledge of privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, PIPEDA).
• Ability to utilize and build generative AI responsibly with human oversight.

Salary Annual base salary range: $135,320 — $159,200 USD
