IT Security Engineer

GVA Partners is seeking a highly skilled IT Security Engineer to join a dynamic project team. The role involves maintaining and securing IT systems, implementing security controls, and participating in cybersecurity initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Carry out procedural system maintenance on all IT systems.
• Ensure all networks meet the demand of the company.
• Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults.
• Maintain and update IT systems and networks.
• Participate in developing, planning, and implementing advanced IT systems.
• Lead cybersecurity initiatives in conjunction with the Group Cybersecurity team.
• Design and implement security controls to safeguard and monitor events for information systems, enterprise applications, and data.
• Respond to escalated security events and drive security incident response processes.
• Provide expertise on security tools such as firewalls, IDS/IDP, anti-malware software.
• Collaborate with the Client Server Team to ensure technical plans are practical and secure.
• Implement infrastructure, configurations, and processes to monitor security-related events.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a security specialization.
• Experience working in a large organization and preferably in the telecommunications industry.
• Strong background in application security infrastructure and various network technologies.
• Experience with Microsoft, Solaris, Unix, Oracle, and MS SQL.
• Knowledge of security best practices such as defense in-depth, least privilege, access controls, encryption.
• Experience in researching new or emerging technologies for security solutions.
