Chief Baker (Ede, Osun State)

Abeke Pharmacy & Stores is seeking an experienced Chief Baker to lead bakery production in Ede, Osun State. The role involves overseeing daily baking operations, ensuring product quality and consistency, managing a team of bakers, controlling costs, maintaining hygiene standards, and contributing to product development.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and supervise daily bakery production to meet sales and customer demand.
• Maintain consistent taste, texture, appearance, and quality across all baked goods.
• Standardize recipes, ingredient measurements, and production procedures.
• Supervise, train, and coordinate bakers and production assistants.
• Monitor ingredient usage, minimize wastage, and improve production efficiency.
• Coordinate inventory needs with procurement to prevent disruptions.
• Enforce food safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices.
• Ensure accurate fulfillment of customer orders and retail requirements.
• Monitor equipment condition and coordinate maintenance.
• Maintain detailed production records and submit daily reports.
• Develop and test new products and improve existing recipes.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements.

Requirements

• Proven experience in bakery production with hands-on baking expertise.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a bakery setting.
• Strong knowledge of bread, pastries, cakes, and related baked products.
• Ability to plan schedules, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
• Understanding of recipe standardization, costing, and waste reduction.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and proper ingredient storage.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare clear operational reports.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• High standards of discipline, accountability, attention to detail, and personal hygiene.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
