Medical Laboratory Technician

Responsibilities

• Collect, label and prepare specimens for testing.
• Perform routine laboratory tests and procedures within scope of practice accurately and efficiently.
• Record and document test results accurately in the LIS and relevant laboratory records.
• Support the medical laboratory scientist in the efficient processing of patient samples and performance of routine laboratory.
• Assist the medical laboratory scientist with other laboratory duties as assigned.
• Follow standard laboratory protocols and procedures.
• Perform routine equipment cleaning, and basic maintenance as specified in applicable SOP.
• Report equipment faults, incidents, errors promptly to the medical laboratory scientist.

Requirements

• Relevant qualification in medical laboratory technology/science with at least 2 years experience.
• Valid professional registration/license as required.
• Good knowledge of specimen collection, handling, processing and basic laboratory procedures.
