Multimedia Journalist

Leadership Newspaper is seeking a Multimedia Journalist to produce and deliver news content across broadcast, online, and social media platforms. The role requires strong storytelling, reporting, and multimedia production skills in a fast-paced newsroom environment.

Responsibilities

• Research, develop, and pitch news stories.
• Conduct interviews and monitor breaking news.
• Write news scripts and articles; shoot and edit videos, record audio segments, and support live broadcasts.
• Verify information and ensure accurate, ethical reporting.
• Collaborate with editors, producers, and newsroom teams.
• Meet deadlines and adhere to editorial guidelines.

Requirements

• Strong multimedia journalism skills with experience in TV or broadcast news.
• Excellent news writing, scriptwriting, and storytelling abilities.
• Relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and respond quickly to breaking news.
• Knowledge of journalistic ethics, fact-checking, and legal considerations in reporting.
• Strong interviewing, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with digital tools, social media platforms, and content management systems.
• Knowledge of the Nigerian media landscape is an advantage.
