Project Architect

Ultimus Holdings is seeking a Project Architect to supervise construction activities and ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards on-site in Abuja. The role involves coordinating daily operations, monitoring structural and architectural works, and maintaining site discipline and safety.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities across the project site.
• Monitor subcontractors, artisans, and site personnel for adherence to schedules and quality standards.
• Plan daily and weekly activities aligned with project milestones.
• Identify site constraints, delays, and construction challenges, escalating issues when necessary.
• Maintain site discipline, housekeeping, and coordination of work areas.
• Monitor structural works including reinforcement fixing, formwork, concrete placement, and blockwork.
• Verify completed works against approved structural drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate inspections and obtain structural engineer approvals before critical activities like concrete pours.
• Identify defects and deviations and refer technical issues to the relevant structural engineer.
• Supervise architectural works such as plastering, screeding, waterproofing, tiling, painting, ceilings, doors, windows, and other finishes.
• Ensure materials, workmanship, dimensions, levels, and finishes meet approved standards.
• Review architectural drawings, resolve site execution issues with consultants, and ensure defects are corrected promptly.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field.
• Proven experience in supervising construction projects in Nigeria.
• Strong knowledge of structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and site execution.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in coordinating with engineers, contractors, and consultants.
