About this programme
Backend developers build the part of an app you do not see: the server that saves your account, processes a payment or sends a notification. Every fintech, e-commerce and logistics company in Nigeria depends on this work, and it is one of the best-paid skills in tech.
Across fourteen weeks you will learn programming from the start with JavaScript and Node.js, then design databases, build secure APIs and put them online. You will build a working payment-style API as your capstone. Live classes run twice a week, with replays for every session.
By the end you’ll be able to
- Write clean server code in JavaScript with Node.js and Express
- Design a PostgreSQL database and query it safely
- Build a REST API with sign-up, login and protected routes
- Test, containerise and deploy an API to the cloud
