REMOTE GRANT WRITER

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate, highly organized, and results-driven Grant Writer to join our remote team.

The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching funding opportunities, developing compelling grant proposals, preparing supporting documents, and helping the organization secure funding from foundations, corporations, governments, international organizations, and philanthropic institutions.

The ideal candidate understands how to turn a powerful social-impact idea into a clear, convincing, and fundable proposal.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and identify relevant local and international grant opportunities.
• Monitor grant portals, foundations, CSR programs, government funding opportunities, and philanthropic organizations.
• Review grant guidelines and assess whether opportunities are suitable for our projects.
• Develop compelling grant proposals, concept notes, letters of inquiry, and funding applications.
• Clearly communicate our mission, programs, impact, goals, and funding needs.
• Develop project objectives, activities, outcomes, indicators, timelines, and budgets.
• Adapt proposals to meet the specific requirements of each funder.
• Prepare compelling organizational profiles and project narratives.
• Maintain a database of grants, funders, deadlines, application status, and outcomes.
• Coordinate with the founder and project teams to collect information required for applications.
• Prepare grant reports and donor updates when required.
• Research prospective corporate partners and CSR funding opportunities.
• Identify opportunities for multi-year funding and strategic partnerships.
• Continuously improve proposals based on feedback and previous application outcomes.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of organizational and financial information.

Requirements

• Proven experience in grant writing, fundraising, nonprofit development, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of nonprofit and social-impact organizations.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Exceptional research and writing skills.
• Ability to communicate complex projects clearly and persuasively.
• Strong understanding of grant proposal structures and funding requirements.
• Ability to develop realistic project budgets and workplans.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and deadline-management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Ability to manage multiple grant applications simultaneously.
• Strong research skills and the ability to identify suitable funders rather than applying randomly.

Experience with international development, education, climate action, sustainability, arts, technology, youth empowerment, or community development will be an advantage.
