Runner

A Runner is responsible for ensuring that food orders are delivered to guest tables swiftly, accurately, and at the perfect serving temperature. This role requires coordination with the kitchen and dining floor teams to maintain operational standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the Head Chef, Expo, Head Waiter, and floor waitstaff to retrieve completed dishes from the kitchen pass and deliver them to correct guest tables.
• Serve dishes accurately according to seat numbers and luxury service protocols.
• Verify every order against kitchen display systems or tickets before leaving the kitchen.
• Assist waitstaff with pre-service preparation and side-station stocking.
• Assist in clearing empty plates, glassware, and silver utensils from tables promptly.
• Maintain a pristine and safe dining environment.
• Adhere strictly to standard operating procedures regarding guest dietary restrictions and severe food allergies.

Requirements

• Male
• Minimum of Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) / WAEC / NECO
• Minimum of 3 years proven experience as a Food Runner, Commis Waiter, or Busser in a high-end restaurant, hotel, or fine dining establishment
• Must reside within or in close proximity to the Maitama area, Abuja
• Exceptional physical stamina, agility, and pace
• Good understanding of culinary items, table numbering systems, and basic food allergy safety procedures
• Clear verbal communication, strong listening skills, and a team-oriented mindset
