Backend Engineer, IAM
Reddit is seeking a Backend Engineer to join the Identity and Access Management (IAM) team. This role involves developing and maintaining mission-critical, highly scalable systems that manage user identity, authentication, and authorization for millions of daily users.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and ship backend services that power experiences for one of the most visited sites in the world.
- Work with product management, security, client engineering, and backend teams to define and implement Reddit’s IAM vision and roadmap.
- Steer high-leverage projects that align with Reddit’s goals.
- Build a more performant, scalable, and higher-quality architecture around IAM.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Reddit Engineering.
- Evolve by learning and improving technical and non-technical abilities.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience designing and developing distributed backend systems.
- IAM backend experience in either authorization or authentication domain.
- Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages (preferably Go).
- Capability with essential cloud infrastructure (Kubernetes, CI/CD, AWS, GCP).
- High empathy and excellent communication skills to collaborate across the organization.
Salary: $164,200 - $229,900 USD annually
