Software Engineer - Developer Experience

Dremio is seeking a Software Engineer to focus on building and maintaining CI/CD systems and developer productivity solutions. This role involves working across major cloud platforms, automating processes, and improving the efficiency of Dremio’s infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain CI/CD systems and developer productivity solutions.
• Solve problems for fellow engineers by leveraging and contributing to playbooks.
• Automate processes where manual processes exist.
• Work on infrastructure across AWS, GCP, Azure.
• Manage access to key infrastructure.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and associated systems.
• Automate local development workflows.
• Analyze performance bottlenecks and document resolutions.
• Keep development branches 'green'.
• Release engineering - automate processes to push software to delivery endpoints.
• Report on the status, reliability, and robustness of CI/CD systems.
• Participate in code reviews.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 1+ years of experience on large scale distributed systems.
• Comfortable navigating fast-moving, unstructured environment of a hyper-growth startup.
• Demonstrable knowledge and experience with at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Basic understanding of cloud networking and architecture.
• Proficiency in Java/C++/Python/Go.
• Knowledge of Maven or similar build environments.
• Hands-on experience in pipeline automation using CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with Terraform, BASH, Docker, Jenkins, and Kubernetes.
• Ability to write technical reports.
• Passion for learning and delivering solutions using latest technologies.
• Strong affinity for collaboration and teamwork.
