Logistics Advisor

A Logistics Advisor is responsible for advising management on logistics strategies, coordinating the movement of goods, and ensuring compliance with regulations. They also monitor deliveries, maintain records, and support warehouse and distribution activities.

Responsibilities

• Advise management on logistics strategies, transportation planning, and operational improvements.
• Coordinate and monitor the movement of goods, equipment, and shipments from origin to destination.
• Liaise with drivers, transport contractors, suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders to resolve logistics issues.
• Monitor deliveries and ensure shipments arrive safely and within agreed timelines.
• Support warehouse, inventory, loading, unloading, and distribution activities where required.
• Ensure logistics operations comply with company policies, Nigerian transportation regulations, and applicable health and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, vehicle movements, delivery documentation, expenses, and logistics performance.
• Analyze logistics data and prepare regular operational reports for management.
• Assist with developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for logistics activities.
• Investigate delivery delays, losses, damages, customer complaints, and other operational incidents.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to logistics and operations personnel.
• Stay informed about developments in Nigeria's transportation, logistics, and supply chain environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in logistics, transportation, fleet management, or supply chain operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and other online softwares.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to prepare reports, analyze operational data, and make practical recommendations.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight delivery deadlines.
