Senior Lecturer - Department of Basic Medical Laboratory Science

Nile University of Nigeria is seeking a highly competent and result-oriented Senior Lecturer to join the Department of Basic Medical Laboratory Science. The role involves teaching, research, and academic leadership.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials, workshops, and seminars.
• Develop curricula and course material that can be used across a number of platforms.
• Collaborate with other academics and lecturers to improve teaching methods and expand knowledge base.
• Set and grade assignments, tests, and exams.
• Conduct research, and writing papers, proposals, journal articles, and books.
• Attend and participate in meetings, conferences, and other events in and outside of the institution.
• Participate in training opportunities and initiatives at the institution.
• Provide support to students and other colleagues.
• Stay current by reading widely and producing published work in the field.

Requirements

• Must have a Ph.D. degree in the relevant field plus 6 years’ experience in teaching, research, and administration.
• Must have at least 7 publications in reputable journals and evidence of continuous research and ability to supervise students.
• Well-developed interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize and accurately complete tasks, work independently and meet deadlines.
• Affiliation with a Professional body.
• Must be adept in the use of MS Office Packages and video conferencing tools such as Microsoft Teams.
