IT Auditor

Role Overview

The IT Auditor is responsible for conducting independent audits of the organization's information systems, applications, infrastructure, and technology processes. The role involves assessing IT controls, identifying vulnerabilities and risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements, and recommending improvements to strengthen information security, operational efficiency, and business continuity.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute IT audits in accordance with approved audit plans and professional standards.
• Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of IT general controls, application controls, and cybersecurity controls.
• Evaluate compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
• Review system development, change management, data management, access controls, and disaster recovery processes.
• Identify technology-related risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and support investigations into IT incidents where required.
• Prepare audit reports detailing findings, risks, and recommendations for management action.
• Monitor and follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations.
• Collaborate with business and technology teams to promote a strong control environment.
• Perform any other duty that may be assigned.

Requirements

• HND/B.Sc/B.Eng. in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or related fields.
• Professional certifications such as CISA, CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
• 2 - 3 years of relevant experience in IT Audit, Information Security, Risk Management, or related functions.
• Knowledge of ERP systems, databases, network security, cloud technologies, and business applications.
• Strong analytical and investigative skills.
• Understanding of power distribution operations and energy flow.
• Proficiency in audit tools, Microsoft Office, and data analytics.
• Integrity, objectivity, and excellent reporting skills.
