Medical Doctor NG MMC

ALIMA is seeking a Medical Doctor to provide medical care for children under five, particularly those with Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) and other paediatric conditions in Borno State. The role involves outpatient and inpatient consultations, patient management, documentation, and participation in team training and infection control measures.

Responsibilities • Assess, admit and manage children with SAM and other paediatric conditions (0–59 months). • Conduct outpatient and inpatient consultations in line with ALIMA protocols. • Diagnose illnesses, prescribe treatments and monitor patients' progress. • Conduct daily reviews of hospitalised children and make discharge or referral decisions. • Communicate treatment plans and patients' progress to parents and guardians. • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation. • Participate in medical team training and implement infection prevention and control measures. • Provide medical consultations to ALIMA staff and their dependents as assigned.

Requirements • MBBS with full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria. • Experience with children under five is an advantage. • Fluency in English and a local language (Hausa or Kanuri) is essential. • Knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word. • Strong communication, teamwork, organisational and time-management skills. • Ability to work under pressure, adapt to changing situations and handle emergencies. • Commitment to patient confidentiality, professionalism and quality healthcare.
