A reputable Tier-2 Microfinance Bank in Ikere, Ekiti State is seeking an experienced Head of Credit to lead its Credit Division. The successful candidate will oversee the full credit lifecycle, ensuring portfolio quality, effective risk management, regulatory compliance, and sustainable loan growth.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement credit policies and underwriting standards.
• Oversee loan portfolio quality and maintain NPLs within regulatory limits.
• Evaluate and approve credit requests for MSMEs, retail, and group lending clients.
• Identify and mitigate credit risks across loan products.
• Lead loan recovery and delinquency management activities.
• Collaborate on the development of market-relevant loan products.
• Ensure compliance with CBN, NDIC, and internal credit governance frameworks.
• Supervise and mentor credit analysts, loan officers, and recovery teams.
• Prepare portfolio and credit risk reports for management and board committees.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Banking & Finance, Accounting, Economics, Agricultural Economics, or a related field.
• Master's Degree is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years' relevant financial services experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial credit role.
• MCIB/MCP certification is mandatory.
• Additional certifications such as ACIB, ACA, or ACCA are an advantage.
• Strong expertise in MSME lending, credit analysis, loan recovery, and core banking software.
• Good knowledge of the Ekiti business environment and agricultural value chains.
• Strong analytical, leadership, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
