Music Teacher

A Music Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing lesson plans, developing student-centered curricula, teaching students how to play musical instruments, read music, and understand music theory, and leading ensemble groups such as choirs, orchestras, and marching bands. They also record student grades and attendance, encourage creative expression through music, and organize and lead music-related field trips.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements the lesson plan
• Developing and implementing student-centered curricula
• Records student grades and attendance
• Staying up-to-date on musical trends and changes in technology
• Teach students how to play musical instruments, read music, and understand music theory
• Lead ensemble groups, such as choirs, orchestras, and marching bands
• Grades written and practical examinations
• Encouraging creative expression through music
• Organizing and leading music-related field trips

Requirements

• At least 3 years of prior experience in teaching Music
• Bachelor’s degree in Music
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Determined and dependable
• Passionate about music
