Sales Officer – Renewable Energy Solutions

LOPTERRA is seeking a results-driven Sales Officer to identify and pursue new business opportunities, build client relationships, and drive revenue growth across its renewable energy solutions portfolio (solar projects, mini-grids, and C&I solar systems).

Responsibilities

  • Lead Generation: Identify and pursue new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking, referrals and social-media outreach; build and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified leads
  • Sales Agent Recruitment & Management: Recruit, train, retain and manage sales agents; equip them with product knowledge and sales strategies; hold them accountable to clear productivity targets
  • Client Consultation: Assess customer energy load profiles and budgets; recommend appropriate solutions (inverter, battery, full solar system, PPA or Solar-as-a-Service); deliver product demonstrations
  • Negotiation & Closing: Address client concerns, negotiate pricing and contract terms, and close sales to meet or exceed quotas; coordinate handover to technical operations for installation
  • Account Management: Build and nurture long-term relationships with existing clients to drive repeat purchases, service contracts, referrals and upsells (capacity upgrades, additional sites, financing extensions)
  • Market Awareness: Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, pricing dynamics and policy shifts; feed insights to the Head of Sales
  • Reporting & CRM Discipline: Log all interactions, track pipeline accurately, and prepare reliable weekly and monthly sales reports using CRM platforms (Salesforce, Zoho, HubSpot)

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field (equivalent practical experience considered)
  • 2–4 years of proven sales experience in B2B or B2C environments, with a track record of consistently meeting or exceeding targets
  • Experience in solar, power, FMCG, financial services or field-sales-heavy industries is a strong plus
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage a sales team or agent network; recruiting, coaching and people-management skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication; active listening; confident presentation; ability to adapt style to different audiences
  • Self-motivated, target-driven and resilient; able to handle rejection without losing momentum
  • Comfortable with field work in Lagos, including site visits, customer meetings and on-the-ground agent management
  • Strong CRM hygiene and respect for data
