Automobile Technician
BBA Motors Limited is seeking a skilled and experienced Automobile Technician to join their team in Nigeria. The role involves diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults in vehicles, as well as performing routine maintenance and inspections.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
- Perform routine servicing, preventive maintenance, and vehicle inspections in line with manufacturer specifications.
- Repair and replace engine, transmission, suspension, steering, braking, cooling, fuel, and exhaust system components.
- Diagnose and repair automotive electrical systems, including batteries, alternators, starters, lighting systems, sensors, and wiring.
- Carry out periodic vehicle servicing, oil changes, brake servicing, wheel alignment, and suspension maintenance.
- Conduct pre-delivery inspections (PDI) and quality checks before vehicles are released to customers.
- Test-drive vehicles where necessary to verify faults and confirm successful repairs.
- Ensure all repair work is properly documented and completed within the required turnaround time.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop while complying with all health and safety standards.
- Collaborate effectively with the Service, Parts, and Inventory teams to ensure efficient service delivery.
Requirements
- Minimum of an OND, HND, or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3–5 years’ hands-on experience as an Automobile Technician in a reputable automobile dealership, workshop, or automotive service centre.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, mechanical repairs, and automotive electrical systems.
- Experience working on Japanese, Korean, Chinese, European, or American vehicle brands will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in using automotive diagnostic scanners and modern workshop equipment.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
