Senior Data Scientist

Vennote Technologies Limited is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join their product development and project implementation team in Lagos, Nigeria. This is a Contract Hybrid position.

Responsibilities

• Build descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytical data models.
• Identify, source, clean, and prepare datasets for chatbot training.
• Extract meaningful features from data for machine learning model improvement.
• Select and develop machine learning algorithms for NLP tasks.
• Work with BAs / UX / Product Owners to document analytics requirements.
• Write SQL queries in BigQuery and create visualizations in Data Studio.
• Monitor dashboards and provide insights to the product team.
• Build ETL pipelines and collaborate with project management teams.
• Provide solution and technical documents for proposed solutions.
• Engage in all stages of the ML lifecycle.

Requirements

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or similar field.
• Over 7 years of experience in building analytical data models.
• Advanced proficiency in Python or R, SQL, Jupyter, Pandas, Dask.
• Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms.
• Experience with chatbot frameworks like Rasa, Dialogflow, or Amazon Lex.
• Proficiency in NLP techniques like tokenization, sentiment analysis, etc.
• Experience with Google Data Studio and Google Cloud (BigQuery, PubSub, Data Flow).
