Software Developer

We are seeking a talented and mission-driven software developer to join our engineering team and contribute to the design, development, and continuous improvement of healthcare software solutions. You will work in an agile environment, collaborating closely with product managers, designers, data teams, and fellow engineers.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable, high-performance software features across HealthSchedule, LabConnect, PharmaDesk, DentaFlow, ImagingHub, and MedSupply
• Write clean, well-documented, modular, and maintainable code aligned with engineering standards and best practices
• Collaborate with product managers, UI/UX designers, and QA engineers to translate business requirements into robust, user-centred technical solutions
• Participate actively in code reviews and maintain high code quality standards
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and performance bottlenecks across all environments
• Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services that are secure, scalable, and optimised for performance
• Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, laboratory systems, pharmacy management tools, and healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR)
• Contribute to technical documentation, architectural decision records, sprint planning, and agile ceremonies
• Ensure developed software complies with Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) and healthcare regulations
• Stay current with emerging tools, frameworks, and technologies

Requirements:

• B.Sc/HND in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical discipline
• 2 to 5 years of professional, production-grade software development experience
• Strong proficiency in at least one backend language: Node.js (JavaScript/TypeScript), Python, PHP, or Java
• Demonstrated experience with frontend frameworks: React.js, Next.js, or Vue.js
• Solid understanding of relational database design and management (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
• Proficiency in building and consuming RESTful APIs
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), containerisation (Docker), and CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with version control using Git and collaborative development workflows
• Understanding of data security principles, encryption standards, and healthcare compliance frameworks
• Experience working in an agile/scrum environment
