Independent Power Plant (IPP) Operator

Role Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the safe, reliable and efficient operation of Bayshore Technologies Limited's Independent Power Plant (IPP), ensuring that plant operations are carried out in accordance with approved operational, safety and maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate power generation equipment and plant systems.
• Monitor plant parameters and operating conditions to ensure efficient and stable operations.
• Conduct routine inspections and identify abnormal operating conditions.
• Record operating data, equipment readings, fuel consumption and other relevant plant information.
• Carry out start-up, shutdown and operational procedures in accordance with approved instructions.
• Respond appropriately to equipment alarms, faults and operational abnormalities.
• Coordinate with the maintenance team during equipment maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
• Maintain accurate shift logs and operational records.
• Ensure compliance with QHSE requirements and safe operating procedures.
• Report equipment faults, operational issues and safety concerns promptly to the appropriate supervisor.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving plant reliability, efficiency and availability.

Requirements

• OND, HND or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Power Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field.
• Previous experience in power generation, IPP, gas power plant, diesel generation or industrial plant operations is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of power generation systems, generators, electrical systems and plant operations.
• Ability to interpret operating parameters and identify abnormal equipment conditions.
• Strong attention to safety and operational procedures.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a technical team.
• Willingness to work shifts and respond to operational requirements.
