Assistant Logistics Manager

Responsible for developing and managing logistics plans, coordinating with plant operators, overseeing fleet operations, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop daily and hourly logistics plans based on gas demand forecasts and customer flow rates.
• Coordinate closely with plant operator/Operations department to align dispatch with production output.
• Ensure contingency plans are in place for route disruptions or emergencies.
• Supervise dispatch schedules and ensure vehicle documentation is complete and valid.
• Oversee real-time tracking of fleet movement to ensure route compliance, no over speeding, and timely delivery.
• Supervise the logistics officers to ensure all fleet activities comply with safety regulations usage, and HSE Policies.
• Review and validate logistics reports: daily dispatch logs, fuel usage, delivery confirmations, and maintenance status.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 Years plus logistics experience, preferably in the gas or energy sector.
• Solid Knowledge of fleet operations, tracking systems, safety procedures, and Nigerian transportation laws.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and logistics Management Software (e.g., ERP or fleet management tools)
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Experience in a CNG/NGV is highly desirable.
• Ability to speak Hausa language is an added advantage.
