TAAS College is seeking a passionate, experienced, and result-oriented English Language/Literature-in-English Teacher to join our academic team. The role involves teaching, lesson planning, student assessment, and organizing literary activities.

Responsibilities

• Teach English Language and Literature-in-English effectively across assigned classes.
• Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, notes, and instructional materials in line with curriculum requirements.
• Assess, monitor, and evaluate students' academic progress.
• Prepare students for internal and external examinations.
• Organize literary activities such as debates, spelling bees, public speaking competitions, drama presentations, and reading clubs.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and student performance.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development programmes, and school activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (B.Ed., B.A. Ed., B.A.) in English Language, Literature-in-English, English Education, or a related field.
• TRCN certification will be an added advantage.
• Relevant professional certifications and training in teaching methodologies will be an advantage.
• Minimum of 4–7 years' teaching experience in a reputable secondary school.
• Proven experience preparing students for WAEC, NECO, IGCSE, and other external examinations.
• Demonstrable record of excellent student academic performance.
• Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
• Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
• Sound knowledge of modern teaching techniques and educational technology.
• Ability to inspire students to develop strong reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills.
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to educational excellence.
