Finance Officer
The Today for Tomorrow Initiative (TFT) is seeking a dedicated Finance Officer to manage financial planning, budget control, and accounting operations for donor-funded projects in Nigeria. The role requires strong financial management skills and a commitment to compliance and transparency.
Responsibilities
- Oversee project financial planning, manage operational budgets, and track grant expenditures.
- Execute and record day-to-day financial transactions in compliance with accounting principles.
- Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and supporting documentation.
- Prepare monthly financial reports, budget variance analyses, and cash flow forecasts.
- Enforce internal financial control systems and ethical standards.
- Manage cash floats, process vendor payments, and oversee field disbursements.
- Organize financial documentation and liaise with auditors during audits.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Full or partial professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of finance and accounting experience, especially in NGO projects.
- Demonstrated experience in grant budget management and financial reporting.
- High proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and advanced Excel skills.
- Understanding of donor compliance rules, taxation laws, and audit procedures.
- Strong integrity, financial analysis skills, and communication abilities.
