Consumer Lending Officer

A consumer lending officer evaluates loan applications, advises clients on loan options, manages credit risk, and ensures compliance with banking regulations. They also process loans, manage client relationships, and contribute to business development.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating loan applications by reviewing credit reports, income statements, employment history, debts, and other financial documents
• Advising clients on available loan products, explaining interest rates, repayment terms, fees, and the pros and cons of each option
• Processing and underwriting loans by collaborating with underwriting teams to verify information and ensure compliance
• Assessing risk and creditworthiness to recommend loan approval, modification, or denial
• Monitoring loan repayment performance and taking proactive steps to mitigate potential losses
• Maintaining strong relationships with borrowers throughout the loan lifecycle
• Sourcing new clients, meeting disbursement targets, and promoting loan products
• Ensuring all lending activities comply with banking regulations and internal policies
