Quality Specialist

Essence Chem is hiring a Quality Specialist to join their team in Ibeju Lekki, Lagos. This is a full-time role focused on ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements in agrochemical production.

Responsibilities

• Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications
• Perform quality control testing and analysis on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished agrochemical products
• Review laboratory results and provide timely reports to management
• Prepare Certificates of Analysis (COA) and maintain accurate laboratory records
• Ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), ISO standards, safety procedures, and company quality policies
• Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory equipment, particularly HPLC systems
• Maintain inventory of laboratory reagents, chemicals, and consumables
• Conduct chemical and physical analyses in accordance with approved testing methods and regulatory requirements
• Participate in internal audits, quality improvement initiatives, and regulatory inspections
• Investigate non-conforming products and support root cause analysis and corrective actions

Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline

Experience:

• 3–5 years' experience in Quality Control within agrochemical, chemical manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or related industry
• Proven hands-on experience operating and interpreting results from HPLC equipment (compulsory)
• Experience with other analytical instruments such as GC, UV-Vis Spectrophotometer, or FTIR (preferred)

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of analytical testing methods and quality control procedures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and laboratory documentation systems
• Good understanding of ISO quality management systems and laboratory best practices
• Ability to analyze laboratory data and prepare technical reports

Mandatory Requirements:

• Candidate must be willing and ready to relocate to the Lekki Free Zone axis, Lagos
• Experience in agrochemical or chemical manufacturing environments highly preferred
• Hands-on experience with HPLC is compulsory
