About the role
In-House Accountant
The In-House Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting the organization’s financial health through effective planning, compliance, and control processes.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date company financial records.
- Prepare, process, and manage payroll, ensuring timely salary payments and correct statutory deductions.
- Review and clean financial data (account scrubbing) to identify and correct errors or inconsistencies.
- Perform regular account reconciliations, including bank and ledger reconciliation.
- Handle taxation processes, including preparation and filing of tax returns in compliance with regulations.
- Manage PAYE (Pay As You Earn) and ensure proper remittance to relevant authorities.
- Develop and monitor budgets to support organizational financial planning.
- Conduct financial forecasting and provide insights for strategic decision-making.
- Prepare financial reports such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Support internal controls and assist in audit processes.
- Perform other finance-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 2-3 years experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
