About the role

Sales Supervisor (Mini Lead) — Kano

Jiji Online Marketplace Limited is hiring a driven Sales Supervisor to lead from the ground up in Kano. You'll start with hands-on sales execution while building and coaching a high-performing team, then transition into full team leadership as the operation scales.

Responsibilities

Phase 1 — Hands-on Execution:

  • Achieve individual sales targets by identifying and onboarding businesses to Jiji
  • Actively sell in the field and lead by example
  • Mentor, coach, and shadow newly recruited sales agents through organized field market storms
  • Monitor daily/weekly team performance (registrations, ads, sales)
  • Share regular performance updates and insights with management
  • Ensure proper follow-up and quality of customer interactions
  • Map key sales areas and identify coverage gaps across Kano
  • Optimize agent deployment based on market potential and performance

Phase 2 — Full Team Ownership (Scale Stage):

  • Transition into full team management and own team performance end-to-end
  • Lead structured coaching and training programs for agents
  • Collaborate with management on hiring, growth strategy, and team structuring
  • Serve as the go-to point of accountability for the Kano sales operation

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of sales experience with a track record of hitting targets
  • At least 1 year of team leadership, coaching, or supervision experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to motivate without micromanaging
  • Comfortable working independently and taking initiative in a field-based environment
  • Analytical mindset; able to read performance data and translate it into action
  • Familiarity with CRM tools or willingness to learn
  • Based in Kano
