A professional responsible for preparing vehicles for painting by inspecting, sanding, and repairing damaged areas. This role involves applying body filler, primer, and surfacer, and ensuring the vehicle is ready for the painter.

Responsibilities

• Inspecting the vehicle and identifying damaged areas.
• Removing or masking parts that should not be painted.
• Sanding and stripping old paint where necessary.
• Repairing dents, scratches, and body imperfections.
• Applying body filler, primer, and surfacer.
• Sanding and smoothing the primed surface.
• Cleaning and degreasing surfaces before painting.
• Masking windows, trims, tyres, and other areas.
• Ensuring the vehicle is dust-free and ready for the painter.
• Following workshop safety and quality-control procedures.
