About the role

Cost Accountant

Neveah Limited is seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to monitor and analyze costs associated with production and operations at our aluminum and copper recycling plant. You will ensure cost efficiency, prepare detailed reports, and provide actionable insights to support financial and operational decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze costs in production processes including raw material procurement, labor, and overhead
  • Develop detailed cost reports and variance analyses to monitor performance against budget
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements
  • Manage valuation of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods inventory
  • Ensure accurate cost allocation and inventory reconciliation
  • Maintain and monitor the fixed asset register
  • Collaborate on annual budgets and forecasts with finance and operations teams
  • Monitor and report budget variances with explanations and corrective actions
  • Implement cost control measures and track effectiveness
  • Conduct profitability analysis for different production lines and product categories
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain robust internal controls for costing processes
  • Develop and maintain cost accounting systems and tools using ERP systems
  • Work with production, procurement, and logistics teams on cost data accuracy
  • Provide support during internal and external audits

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CMA) is highly desirable

Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years as a Cost Accountant or similar role
  • Preferably in manufacturing or recycling industry

Technical Skills:

  • Cost accounting principles and practices
  • ERP systems (SAP, Oracle)
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Industry-specific costing methods and inventory valuation techniques

Soft Skills:

  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
