Project Accountant

Rossland Group is seeking a competent and detail-oriented Project Accountant to manage financial operations for large-scale projects with precision, compliance, and accountability. This role involves overseeing project finances, ensuring strict adherence to donor regulations and international accounting standards, and delivering accurate financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Compile, verify, and conduct quality checks on project receipts, invoices, and expense reports to ensure full audit readiness
• Collate and manage monthly project budgets
• Track project expenditures against milestones and perform variance analysis
• Calculate and prepare all project financial records, including accurate preparation and processing of DEG call notices
• Ensure compliance with international donor requirements and IFRS standards
• Prepare detailed financial statements and reports for management and stakeholders
• Monitor foreign exchange fluctuations and manage financial risks related to cross-border transactions and procurement
• Support financial planning, forecasting, and reporting for project implementation

Requirements

• Chartered Accountant with active ICAN certification
• Bachelor's Degree (BSc) or higher in Accounting or related discipline
• Proven experience in project accounting, especially within international or donor-funded projects
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial compliance frameworks
• Advanced proficiency in Google Suite and AI tools for financial analysis, automation, and reporting
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under deadline pressure
