Role Overview
Lagos Executive Cardiovascular Centre (LECC) is seeking a qualified, compassionate, and experienced Dietitian to join its clinical team.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients' nutritional needs based on their medical conditions, lifestyle, and treatment plans.
- Develop personalized nutrition and dietary plans for patients.
- Provide dietary counselling and practical guidance to patients and their families.
- Support patients with cardiovascular conditions, diabetes, hypertension, obesity, and other nutrition-related conditions.
- Work closely with cardiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Monitor patients' nutritional progress and make appropriate adjustments to dietary plans.
- Educate patients on healthy eating, portion control, weight management, and lifestyle modification.
- Provide nutrition education for patients and staff when required.
- Maintain accurate and confidential nutritional assessment and patient records.
- Participate in multidisciplinary clinical meetings and contribute to patient care planning.
- Support preventive healthcare initiatives and wellness programmes.
- Stay updated on current nutrition research, clinical guidelines, and best practices.
- Ensure all dietary recommendations are evidence-based and aligned with patient safety and clinical requirements.
- Uphold LECC's standards of professionalism, patient-centred care, confidentiality, and service excellence.
Requirements
- B.Sc. in Nutrition and Dietetics or a relevant qualification.
- Must be duly registered/licensed with the appropriate professional regulatory body in Nigeria.
- Previous experience in a hospital or clinical setting is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of therapeutic diets and clinical nutrition.
- Excellent communication and counselling skills.
- Compassionate, patient-focused, and able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Good documentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
