ESG Research Analyst - Energy Sector

We are looking for a highly analytical and research-driven ESG Research Analyst with experience or strong knowledge of the Energy Sector. The role involves conducting ESG and sustainability research across areas such as oil and gas, power, utilities, renewable energy, and emerging clean-energy technologies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ESG research and assessments of energy companies, projects, and assets.
• Analyse environmental, social, governance, climate, and sustainability risks and opportunities.
• Review sustainability reports, annual reports, ESG disclosures, company policies, and relevant industry information.
• Assess corporate climate strategies, decarbonisation plans, and net-zero commitments.
• Analyse greenhouse gas emissions, including Scope 1, Scope 2, and where relevant, Scope 3 emissions.
• Research renewable energy, clean technologies, climate finance, carbon markets, and energy-transition developments.
• Assess environmental issues such as pollution, waste, water use, biodiversity, and land use.
• Review social issues including health and safety, human rights, labour practices, community relations, and stakeholder engagement.
• Assess corporate governance, ethics, compliance, risk management, and ESG oversight.
• Monitor energy-sector regulations, climate policies, and sustainability reporting requirements.

Requirements

• Strong analytical and research skills.
• Experience or knowledge of the Energy Sector.
• Familiarity with ESG frameworks and sustainability reporting.
• Excellent data analysis and interpretation skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
