Role Overview

Baykins Pharmaceutical Company is seeking a detail-oriented and quality-conscious Quality Control Officer to support the company in maintaining quality standards across products, processes, and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine quality inspections and checks on products, processes, and operational activities.
  • Ensure products and business processes comply with established quality standards and company procedures.
  • Identify, document, and report defects, discrepancies, and non-conformities.
  • Monitor the handling, storage, packaging, and distribution of pharmaceutical products to ensure quality requirements are maintained.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and work areas where necessary.
  • Investigate quality-related issues and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain accurate quality control records, inspection reports, and documentation.
  • Follow up on corrective actions to ensure identified quality issues are properly resolved.
  • Work closely with Operations, Warehouse, Sales, and other relevant departments to maintain quality standards.
  • Support the implementation and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality guidelines.
  • Report recurring quality issues and recommend improvements to prevent future occurrences.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with applicable company policies, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of OND, HND, or Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Food Science, Quality Management, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of relevant work experience is an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of quality control principles and procedures.
  • Strong observation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good documentation and report-writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify errors or quality deviations.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with other departments.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical product handling and storage requirements is an added advantage.
