Recovery Manager

The Recovery Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Lagos State, Nigeria. This position is responsible for overseeing loan recovery activities, including tracking overdue accounts, contacting clients, negotiating repayment plans, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances.

Responsibilities

• Oversee loan recovery activities
• Track overdue accounts and contact clients
• Negotiate repayment plans and ensure timely collection
• Analyze portfolio performance and identify high-risk accounts
• Implement recovery strategies aligned with regulatory and internal policies
• Prepare recovery reports and collaborate with credit and operations teams
• Recommend process improvements to reduce loan defaults
• Ensure all recovery actions are documented accurately and conducted in a professional, ethical, and compliant manner

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of loan recovery processes, credit risk management, and microfinance operations
• Proficiency in data analysis, portfolio monitoring, and use of banking or loan management software
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills
• Ability to interpret and apply relevant banking regulations, including CBN and microfinance guidelines
• Organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
• Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
• Prior experience in loan recovery, collections, or credit control within a financial institution is highly beneficial
• Integrity, professionalism, and ability to work effectively in an on-site team environment in Lagos State, Nigeria
