Grant Writer & Funding Research Officer
The Grant Writer & Funding Research Officer will be responsible for researching and identifying potential funders, developing high-quality grant applications, and maintaining an active pipeline of funding opportunities. This role involves working closely with colleagues in the UK and Nigeria to gather information for applications, communicate impact effectively, and achieve fundraising targets.
Responsibilities
- Research and identify relevant funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, charities, and corporate funders.
- Write high-quality grant applications, proposals, concept notes, and funding requests.
- Develop compelling narratives that clearly communicate the need, programme approach, impact, and outcomes of literacy and education programmes.
- Maintain an up-to-date grants pipeline and funding opportunities database.
- Prepare weekly activity and progress reports.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience in grant writing, fundraising, donor research, or a related role.
- Strong understanding of UK trusts, foundations, and charitable funding mechanisms.
- Experience researching and applying for international funding opportunities.
- Exceptional written and spoken English.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Strong storytelling ability.
- Excellent research and analytical skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
