About the role

Green Africa is hiring a Customer Service Assistant to manage baggage operations and assist customers at the check-in desk and arrival hall in Lagos.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate baggage weights are captured and processed at check-in desks
  • Record and store unclaimed Green Africa tagged baggage in the arrival hall
  • Assist customers with luggage and direct those with baggage irregularities (lost or damaged) to the Duty Officer
  • Advise customers on excess baggage payment processing
  • Tag baggage with destination details before conveying to the Baggage Screening Point
  • Inspect baggage condition before acceptance and handle damaged bags per company policy
  • Process Company Materials (COMATs) and RUSH bags for departing and arriving flights
  • Identify and assist customers with special needs (wheelchair users, expectant mothers, mothers with infants, group travellers) before check-in
  • Ensure no baggage is left unattended and check for suspicious baggage; adhere to security procedures and weight limits
  • Coordinate with Check-in officers and Turnaround Coordinators to track unloaded baggage
