We are seeking an experienced Marketing Manager to own the company brand and marketing agenda across all channels. This senior-level role translates commercial priorities and customer insights into integrated plans and campaigns, ensures disciplined brand governance, and measures marketing effectiveness through a structured test-and-learn approach.
Responsibilities
- Define and maintain brand positioning, value proposition, brand architecture, and tone of voice
- Own the brand guideline pack and ensure adoption across all teams, agencies, and business units
- Operate brand governance: approvals for messaging, creative consistency, product claims accuracy, and reputational risk checks
- Monitor competitors and category trends; propose brand responses and differentiation opportunities
- Create quarterly and monthly marketing plans aligned to commercial priorities and business OKRs
- Lead end-to-end campaign delivery across digital, social, influencer, PR, partnerships, and CRM channels
- Own content strategy and editorial calendar aligned to the customer journey
- Develop high-quality creative briefs with clear objectives, deliverables, and acceptance criteria
- Define and track marketing KPIs (reach, engagement, share-of-voice, campaign efficiency)
- Operate a test-and-learn rhythm: hypotheses, experiments, results, learnings, and iteration
- Produce weekly campaign updates and monthly marketing performance reports
- Plan and track marketing spend within approved guardrails
- Manage vendors/agencies: selection, scoping, SLAs, performance evaluation, and invoice readiness
- Work closely with Commercial, Growth, Customer Experience, and Supply Chain teams
- Ensure compliance with data/privacy requirements and IP/content usage rights
- Escalate reputational issues promptly and coordinate crisis communications
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field (MBA is an advantage)
- 8+ years of progressive marketing experience, preferably in FMCG, e-commerce, consumer retail, or high-growth consumer brands
- Proven track record planning and executing multi-channel campaigns
- Demonstrated experience managing external vendors and agencies
- Strong understanding of digital marketing fundamentals (paid media, SEO/SEM, social, influencer, CRM)
- Ability to write effective creative briefs and evaluate creative work against objectives and brand standards
- Marketing analytics literacy: campaign measurement, attribution, A/B testing, and performance reporting
- Working knowledge of Meta, Google, email/CRM tools, GA/analytics, and social tools
- Budget management and vendor governance experience
- Strategic thinking with strong execution discipline and attention to detail
- Clear communicator who can simplify complex ideas for diverse stakeholders
- Collaborative approach to cross-functional teamwork
- Customer-centric mindset; curious and insight-driven
- High integrity and sound judgement
Working Conditions
Hybrid role based in Lagos, Nigeria with periodic on-site collaboration and campaign execution support. May require occasional travel for activations, partner meetings, or shoots. Peak workload periods may occur around major campaigns.
