Swim Coach / Lifeguard

A reputable international school is seeking a qualified Swim Coach/Lifeguard to support its swimming programme and ensure the safety and wellbeing of students during swimming activities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality swimming lessons and coaching sessions across age groups and ability levels
• Plan structured sessions to develop swimming ability, technique, and confidence
• Assess and monitor student progress, maintaining accurate records
• Ensure safe use of pool and equipment during lessons
• Act as lifeguard during lessons, training, and pool-related events
• Enforce pool safety rules and conduct safety checks
• Respond to emergencies with first aid and rescue procedures
• Maintain appropriate student-to-coach/lifeguard ratios
• Support students with different abilities and learning needs
• Promote a positive, inclusive swimming environment
• Follow safeguarding procedures at all times
• Participate in swimming events and competitions

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, Sports Coaching, or related field (advantage)
• Recognized swimming coaching qualification/certification
• Current lifeguard certification
• Current First Aid, CPR, and/or AED certification
• Minimum of 3–5 years' experience as a swimming coach/lifeguard, preferably in a school setting
• Good understanding of swimming techniques, water safety, and rescue procedures
• Strong child protection and safeguarding awareness
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• International/British curriculum school experience is an advantage

Salary ₦400,000 – ₦500,000 monthly
