A Cashier Supermarket is responsible for handling customer transactions, maintaining the checkout area, and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers politely and provide excellent customer service.
• Scan and accurately record items purchased by customers.
• Receive cash, debit/credit card, mobile, or other approved payments.
• Give customers the correct change and receipts.
• Handle cash and maintain an accurate cash drawer.
• Package or assist with packaging customers’ purchases when required.
• Process refunds, exchanges, and discounts according to company policies.
• Check prices and resolve basic pricing discrepancies.
• Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and secure.
• Report damaged goods, suspicious transactions, or discrepancies to the supervisor.
• Assist customers with basic questions about products and store services.
• Balance the cash register at the end of a shift.
• Follow supermarket policies, health and safety procedures, and security guidelines.
