Junior Secondary School Subject Teacher

Aster Bloom Academy is recruiting qualified and passionate subject teachers to join their junior secondary school in Benin City. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality instruction in their area of specialisation while inspiring students to achieve academic excellence, develop strong moral values, and become confident, responsible, and lifelong learners.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in accordance with the school's curriculum and academic standards
• Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that promote critical thinking and active learning
• Assess, monitor, and evaluate students' academic performance and provide timely feedback
• Maintain accurate academic records and prepare progress reports
• Create a positive, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment that supports effective learning
• Encourage students' intellectual, emotional, social, and moral development
• Promote positive behaviour, respect, responsibility, and integrity among students
• Integrate technology and innovative teaching strategies into classroom instruction
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding students' academic progress and development
• Support the school's commitment to character development by modelling professionalism, leadership, integrity, respect, and excellence
• Participate in departmental meetings, professional development programmes, school events, and extracurricular activities
• Comply with the school's safeguarding, health, safety, and child protection policies

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant subject area
• Minimum of 3 years' teaching experience at the junior secondary school level
• Excellent classroom management and instructional skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Good ICT proficiency
• Passion for teaching, mentoring young learners, and promoting values-based education

Nice to Have

• Experience teaching the British Curriculum
• TRCN certification or registration

Salary

NGN 80,000 - 150,000 monthly
